Project Background

Marunda Center Industrial Estate is one of the most active industrial areas in North Jakarta, featuring large-scale manufacturing and logistics facilities. This project involves the lifting of a dredger bucket — components of dredging equipment that have weight 32 tons with large dimensions and a non-uniform center of gravity.

Technical Challenge

The 32-ton weight with uneven weight distribution on the bucket dredger makes lifting with a single crane unit suboptimal from a safety perspective. The working radius at the site is also limited due to the surrounding industrial area structure.

Implemented Solutions

The ASANINDO technical team decided to use tandem lifting operation — two mobile cranes working simultaneously lifting the dredger bucket from two designated lifting points.

Before execution, a written lifting plan is prepared with calculations:

  • Load distribution between two cranes
  • Optimal position of each crane
  • Movement synchronization procedure between two operators
  • Exclusion zone and communication procedures

Result: The dredger bucket was successfully lifted and moved safely in a single work shift, without incident.

Lessons from This Project

Tandem lifting is an operation rarely done correctly — it requires tight coordination and an experienced lifting supervisor. One of the most important decisions in this project is choosing a tandem lift rather than looking for a single larger crane — more cost-efficient and safer for the existing site conditions.


Project 2: Padel Court Erection on Jl. MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta — 8-Ton Crane Replacing 25-Ton Crane

The 26-meter boom XCMG XCT8 is the solution for padel court erection on Jl. MH Thamrin — in an area inaccessible to 25-ton cranes, yet still requiring long boom reach.

Project Background

MH Thamrin Street is one of Central Jakarta's main corridors—congested, narrow, and unfriendly to oversized heavy equipment. The client needed a crane for the erection of a padel court structure at a location with extremely limited access.

Initial client estimate: needs a crane 25 tons For this erection, according to the ASANINDO technical team survey: a crane is enough. 8 tons.

Technical Challenge

Two major challenges facing each other:

  1. Narrow access — the access road to the location does not allow a 25-ton crane to enter without risk
  2. The required boom reach remains long — the erection of the padel structure requires significant vertical reach

Implemented Solutions

The ASANINDO team recommends XCMG XCT8 — 8-ton compact crane unit with a 26-meter boom. This is a crane that is often underestimated because its capacity is “only 8 tons,” but the reality in the field tells a different story.

The key is understanding the actual load that needs to be lifted, not just capacity assumptions. After calculating the actual weight of the padel components — including the glass panels, steel frame, and accessories — the total load per lift does not exceed the effective capacity of the XCT8 at the required radius.

A 26-meter boom in a compact truck dimension allows the crane to enter areas inaccessible to a 25-ton crane, while reaching the necessary height.

Result: The erection of the padel structure is complete with the XCT8. The client saved significantly on crane rental costs compared to using a 25-ton crane, while the work was still completed on time without compromising safety.

Lessons from This Project

A “bigger” crane is not always better. The right crane choice starts with accurate calculations, not expensive conservative estimates.


Project 3: Lifting the Transmitter Tower from the 11th Floor Building, Jl. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta

A 50-ton crane with a 43-meter boom and a 16-meter fly jib (totaling 59 meters) successfully dismantled a transmission tower from an 11th-floor building in the Rasuna Said area.

Project Background

Jl. HR Rasuna Said is a premium office area in South Jakarta — high-rise buildings line the dense area. The client needs a crane to perform dismantling a transmission tower who is on the roof of the 11-story building.

This is no ordinary project. The target lifting height, the surrounding high-rise building environment, and the location in a densely populated urban area make it one of the most technically challenging jobs ASANINDO has ever handled.

Technical Challenge

Altitude: The 11th floor in the Rasuna Said area means the crane must be able to reach a height of about 40–50 meters above the crane's standing position on the street.

Working radius: The crane cannot be placed directly beneath the tower due to the building's structure—there must be a horizontal distance, which means the effective capacity at that height becomes even more critical.

Environment: Other surrounding buildings limit the boom's working angle. Road access in the congested Rasuna Said area also requires careful mobilization coordination.

Implemented Solutions

ASANINDO deployed SANY STC500 — mobile crane 50 ton with maximum boom configuration:

  • Main boom: 43 meters
  • Flyjib 16 meters
  • Total vertical range: 59 meters

This configuration provides adequate lifting capacity at the 11th-floor height while maintaining the required horizontal radius from the crane's standing position.

Before execution, a detailed lifting plan is prepared covering:

  • Capacity calculation on the boom + fly jib configuration at the actual radius
  • Crane positioning that optimizes capacity while meeting spatial constraints in the Rasuna Said area
  • Communication procedure between the crane operator in the cabin and the team on the 11th-floor building rooftop
  • Coordinate with building management for the exclusion zone and traffic management around the site

Result: The transmitter tower was successfully dismantled and lowered safely. A total effective reach of 59 meters proves the STC500's capability to handle extreme vertical jobs in the urban environment of Jakarta.

Lessons from This Project

This project proves the importance flyjib on large-capacity cranes. Without the 16-meter fly jib, even a 50-ton crane would not be able to reach the 11th floor with adequate capacity. The selection of the correct crane configuration — not just the tonnage capacity — is what makes the difference.


Project 4: Container Loading and Unloading Contract — PT BYD, Subang, West Java

Project Background

PT BYD — the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer from China currently operating in Indonesia — needs services container loading and unloading at their facility in Subang, West Java. This is not a one-time job — but a ongoing contract to routinely support the operations of the BYD facility.

Job Details

The work includes two types of operations alternately:

  • Unload the container — unloading containers from transport vehicles to storage areas or facilities
  • Load container — lifting containers to be loaded onto transport vehicles out of the facility

Implemented Solutions

For the needs of loading and unloading containers with ISO standard weights and dimensions, ASANINDO deployed SANY STC550 — mobile crane 55 ton, unit terbaru dan terkuat di armada kami.
